House Drawings
Over the last 4 years Kate Aspinall has produced on commission
a number of Fine Art pen and ink or watercolour portraits
of distinctive houses. These images are a beautiful gift
and are also available as type heading or on personalised
note cards. House portraiture is an exquisite way to commemorate
the location of childhood memories or to celebrate a family
home. They are also beautiful tokens of holiday residences
or mementos from past moves.

Portraiture
Kate Aspinall has also created a number of commission portraits.
The figure has always featured prominently in Kate’s
work, especially concentrations on facial features and the
eloquence of hands. Portraiture in pencil commends itself
strongly to Kate’s distinctive style.
Kate Aspinall prefers to work in allegorical portraiture,
whereby the sitter’s personality is emphasised through
its compositional attributes. This method integrates the
figure into a fine art drawing as a pleasing alternative
to the stark intensity of a simple portrait. Each subject
dictates its own presentation, and thus the sitter’s
preferences are integril to creating a successful portrait.

One of the most whimsical facets of Kate’s creativity
are her snout-nosed creatures.
Though each creature struggles forth from its materials
as a strong and decisive personality, a few exceptional
individuals have requested very particular incarnations
for their snout-nosed companions.
Snout-nosed creatures suitable for young children are also
available on application.
